We are seeking experienced Retail Manager at the Baltimore Convention Center located in Baltimore, Maryland.
The Baltimore Convention Center in the heart of a renewed downtown area offers a huge variety of attractions and is an affordable facility with superior amenities for conventions, banquets and meetings of any size.
The Baltimore Convention Center is only eight miles from the airport and located conveniently between Baltimore's Inner Harbor and Oriole Park (off of interstates 83 and 295). It is easily accessible by car or light rail system with major hotels, shopping, tourist attractions all within walking distance, and connects to several major hotels and restaurants by skywalk. The 1,225,000 square-foot, state-of the-art facility is the perfect place to host conferences, meetings and banquets, no matter how big or small.
This position is responsible for the efficient and profitable operation of the company’s retail branded concept restaurant and ensures that the concept “Service Experience” is consistently provided for all customers. This position must maintain the branded concept restaurant(s) in perfect regard to Licensed Concepts Operations Manual(s) and pass all Shopper Inspections in order to produce an acceptable Shopper Score thereby meeting the standards established by concept restaurant owners and the company.
Conduct bi-weekly inventory. Maintain expendable par levels.
Ensure the proper types and amounts of materials, supplies, and merchandise are ordered and stocked. Effectively communicate new product information to partners.
Contribute toward Retail/F&B profitability by seeking opportunities to increase sales, and manage appropriate inventory.
Ensure attractive display of products to encourage customers to purchase.
Ensure safety and security of customers.
Ensure all cash handling and cash register functions are performed in an accurate and consistent manner.
Maintain final accountability for Retail/F&B operations, partner development, and financial contribution.
Perform Food, Labor and Labor cost control.
Prepare requisitions, stand sheets and event closing procedures.
Assist with sales and labor forecasting.
Train and develop partners to demonstrate all concept customer service standards, operating standards and Star Skills.
Expect and encourage full participation of partners in creating Retail/F&B goals and developing plans.
Determine daily and weekly staffing requirements, conducts partner performance reviews Handle partner complaints and concerns, provides ongoing performance feedback, and counsel partners when necessary.
Ensure all company policies, Retail/F&B operating standards, and procedures are communicated effectively to partners and maintained and followed in a consistent manner.
Perform daily inspection of the appearance of all employees representing the company’s retail concept restaurants to insure adherence to appearance/uniform required. Ensure all employees have received instruction regarding hygiene, appearance and the items that constitute a proper uniform.
Organize work throughout store in a manner that facilitates efficient customer service and profitable operation.
Ensure all customers receive the highest quality product and customer service possible.
Maintain consistent speed of service to the customer by ensuring all store-staffing requirements.
Trains staff to and demonstrates the “Just Say Yes” behavior by taking care of customers requiring special assistance.
Maintains all equipment, including carts, in running order.
Conducts daily inspection of entire operation in order to insure clean, sanitary work environment in stores and portable carts.
Insures that all of the company’s retail concept restaurants/cafes meet all requirements of the Board of Health.
Ensures store appearance and equipment are maintained in a consistent manner.
Maintains training and review of Staff in the proper setup and breakdown of all portable carts.
Perform other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required from time to time.
Ability to understand written and oral direction and communicate same with others.
Experience managing a retail venue.
Progressive management experience.
Ability to promote and participate in a team environment.
4 years experience high volume retail, restaurant, cash operations.
Experience managing multiple retail venues.
Knowledge of food handling laws and procedures.
Tips or TEAM trained.
Mobility is needed to attend various meetings and events. Hours may be extended or irregular to include nights, weekends and holidays.
