Your daily activities include soliciting, booking and coordinating room sales to exceed revenue and profit goals. You will be responsible for the following: Build new group business by soliciting clients and maintain existing group business - Meet and exceed monthly quarterly and annual room night and revenue goals. - Grow existing relationships with assigned corporate accounts - Tracking of monthly, quarterly, and annual volume for all accounts - Research, develop and maintain marketing opportunities within corporate accounts - Timely execution of account contracts including any necessary negotiation - Responsible for developing and maintaining effective networking relationships with local counterparts at competitive hotels - Solicit new and existing accounts to meet/exceed revenue goals through telephone solicitation, outside sales calls, site inspections and written communication. - Prepare correspondence to customers, internal booking reports and file maintenance. - Participate in daily business review meeting, training and other catering sales related meetings as required. - Work with other departments within the hotel to provide quality service to customers. - Develop and maintain knowledge of market trends, competition and customers.
Prior experience selling Conference Centers in the DC Region, including CMP and DMP pricing, is strongly preferred. The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of knowledge, skills, and abilities: -Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace. -Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process. -Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written. -Most tasks are performed in a team environment with the employee acting as a team leader. There is minimal direct supervision. -Knowledge of all departments of hotel. -Ability to communicate customer needs and resolve complaints independently. -Ability to establish and master goals. -Ability to identify and develop accounts. -Ability to act independently with minimal or no supervision. -Must possess basic computational ability. -Must possess computer skills, including, but not limited to, accounting programs, Microsoft Word, Excel and Delphi. -Math skills, as well as budgetary analysis capabilities required. -Working knowledge of federal, state and local laws governing equal employment opportunity and civil rights, occupational safety and health, wage and hour issues, and labor relations, including, but not limited to the following statutes and their comparable state and local laws (where applicable): Title VII, ADEA, Equal Pay Act, Pregnancy Discrimination Act, FLSA, ADA, OSHA, FMLA, and NLRA
