Server - Cellar 49 Restaurant

To provide all restaurant guests with an entertaining and enjoyable dining experience, through quality service in the most efficient manner, at all times.

Performs any necessary pre-shift sidework.
Reviews the menu and becomes thoroughly familiar with all items and means of preparation being offered that day, including the ingredients, preparation, sauces, and garnishes as well as the wine list, what wines compliment which food items, and why.
Checks with manager for assigned station. Ensures station is properly set up and cleaned, flatware and glassware is polished before service
Greets and ensures all guests are provided with water and bread and butter after being seated.
Takes guests’ cocktail and food orders, answering all menu questions, making helpful suggestions, up-selling and citing a favorite item.
Pleasantly interacts with guests during food and beverage ordering
Presents properly written food check to for delivery to the table. Ensures all positions and table numbers are numbered properly. Effectively communicates with kitchen to ensure prompt delivery of food orders.
Anticipates guests’ needs.
Practices “clean as you go” techniques of service, including refolding napkins and cleaning between courses, and keeping the station clean, neat, and supplied at all times.
Closes all guest checks in a timely manner, ensuring all checks are properly signed and printed.
Addresses all guest feedback with utmost confidence, grace and concern for the guest’s satisfaction
Completes assigned side work and resets tables for the next meal function.
Is a team player and interacts with all guests and fellow associates in a positive and friendly manner
Required Qualifications
Has prior experience as a Restaurant or Banquet Food Server. Has knowledge of basic cocktails and wine varietals
Food handling certificate.
Provide legible communication.
Compute basic arithmetic.
Ability to:
Perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy.
Prioritize and organize.
Be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment.
Follow directions thoroughly.
Understand guest’s service needs.
Work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.
Work with minimal supervision.
Maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data.
