The DAC, founded in 1887, with over 3700 members, is a one of the most prominent private clubs in the Midwest. Located in the entertainment district of downtown Detroit, the city/athletic club is flanked by Ford Field (Detroit Lions) and Comerica Park (Detroit Tigers).
The six story DAC is located on 3.4 acres, with 5 restaurants (casual to fine dining), 13 banquet/meeting rooms (17,500 sq ft), 2 bars, and 29 hotel sleeping rooms and 11 private suites. The athletic facilities include a pool, gym, 8 lane bowling alley, fitness center, locker rooms and spa, and squash and handball courts. Also a barber and tailor shop, library, business center, garage and parking for 760, and car wash. The Club also has a golf program with 13 clubs and courses and reciprocity with 120 clubs around the world.
The Assistant General Manager reports directly to the Executive Manager, oversees all day to day operations of Food and Beverage, Catering, Guest Rooms, Maintenance, Housekeeping, Laundry, and Night Operations. Directly supervises the Restaurant Manager, Beverage Manager, Banquet Manager, Director of Catering, Rooms Manager, Director of Housekeeping, and Night Manager.
