Duties & Responsibilities
This position is responsible for the creation, coordination, and management of events throughout the Radcliffe Institute. These events will position Radcliffe to attract support for the mission and vision of the Institute’s leadership.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Director of Events, manages all event logistics including but not limited to large fundraising receptions, high level major gift gatherings, Dean’s office initiated events, exploratory seminars and related academic ventures events, student and faculty-focused stewardship events, conferences, events sponsored by Radcliffe departments, brown bag lunch and learns, and the national fundraising campaign events.
Acts as liaison with the Dean’s office and manages logistics for the Advisory Council Meetings.
Follows or initiates standard event practices and policy, and overseas internal and external event related communication.
Collaborates with multiple constituencies, both internal and external to Radcliffe, to ensure flawless event implementation.
Assists the Director with the development of the department budget.
Supervises direct report(s) to include scheduling, performance management and performance development.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management or related-field.
Five years progressively responsible experience in the management of all aspects of events.
Three to five years of experience supervising staff required.
Must occasionally work evening and weekend hours; some travel may be required.
Additional Qualifications
Previous experience in a higher education setting preferred.
Must be highly organized, detail oriented, and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Must be flexible and able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks under deadline pressure.
Solid computer skills in Excel, Microsoft office, and ideally previous experience with Harvard’s Advance system.
