Responsible for the preparation of entrees, meats, soups, gravies, desserts and special diet foods.
Qualifications and Requirements
Two (2) years experience as a cook in quantity food production; or one (1) year vocational training as a cook and one (1) year experience in quantity food production required; or any combination of education and experience which would provide necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to meet the minimun qualifications to perform the essential functions of this position. On-the-job training is provided for approximately 1-2 weeks to familiarize new cook with work routine and menus. Must be able to cook/bake a variety of foods in large quantities. Familiar with seasonings required for special diets and cooking time involved. Able to make estimates relative to quantities of food required. Must be able to calculate amounts needed for portion control, and to comprehend recipes, menus and meal tickets on the trayline which are written in English.
