The Nines hotel is the height of luxury. Ideally situated downtown next to Portland’s Pioneer Square and the MAX light Rail, the Nines rests atop the historic landmark Meier & Frank Building. The striking decor and impeccable service is a contemporary homage to the structure’s storied past.
We are currently searching for a Guest Services Operator to join our team.
GENERAL PURPOSE
Operate the hotel switchboard in an efficient, courteous and professional manner to provide quality operations which maximize guest satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Answer all incoming calls promptly in the prescribed manner and take charges on incoming collect calls.
Follow through in resolving guest problems and/or requests courteously and accurately.
Process and file check-in and check-out slips in a timely, efficient manner.
Prepare wake-up sheets/ set wake-up clock; record the guest's name and room number under the wake-up time requested and repeat the information back to the guest to ensure proper handling of wake-up calls in the morning.
Sort and process guest related mail in a quality manner in accordance to established procedures.
Maintain the fax machine, sort and receive guest faxes and process appropriate charges to ensure revenues are collected and guests are satisfied.
Handle all emergencies according to established procedures.
OTHER DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitor and maintain internal keys and logs in compliance with key control procedures.
Be familiar with hotel, its services and the local area.
Be familiar with reservation procedures, assist as needed.
Assist the guests with luggage when bellperson is not available.
No travel required.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
May require knowledge of multi-phone line system. Working knowledge is generally learned on-the-job. Pleasant phone voice. Hospitable personality.
High school education or equivalent experience.
No prior experience necessary.
