The Assistant Banquet Manager will be responsible for assisting and overseeing the Banquet Department alongside the Banquet Manager. This position will oversee the scheduling, ordering, receiving and running of daily revenue, financial and wage reports. This position will provide clear communication in and outside of the banquet department and aid in the efficiency of the overall benefit of the department. The Assistant Banquet Manager will work closely with the Banquet Manager, the Banquet Captains and Employees, Set Up, the Food Department, Catering, Casino Marketing, Sales and any other department that touches Banquets.
\u2022Maintain complete knowledge of all departmental policies, service procedures and standards.\u2022Maintain positive guest and employee relations at all times. Assist with complaints, displaying empathy and concern. \u2022Be familiar with hotel services and features\u2022Prepare departmental schedules in accordance with staffing guidelines and labor forecasts. Adjust schedules throughout the week to meet the business demands and accommodate vacation requests.\u2022Confirm adequate coverage is expected for each event via daily phone calls to on call employee list. \u2022Review daily event orders and identify special requests, needs, set up or changes and convey those changes to all departments involved in set up and administration. \u2022Perform application review, interviews and recommendations for hiring of banquet and setup teams.\u2022Establish par levels for supplies and equipment. Complete orders to replenish shortages or additional items needed for the anticipated business. \u2022Assist in providing all food inventory orders, returns and transfers and prepares china and equipment inventories and advises Manager and Director of needs.\u2022Review and plan for future events from staffing, to décor to linens and menus.\u2022Work closely with Banquet Manager, Captains and Supervisors to ensure rooms are set up, according to diagrams. \u2022Fill in for the Banquet Supervisors and Banquet Manager when not available.\u2022Review sales for previous day and resolve any discrepancies. Prepare group checks after each function.\u2022Oversees training of all positions and pre-shift meetings with staff\u2022Responsible for making sure all policies and procedures are followed.\u2022Attend weekly meetings and act as a banquet representative. (Catering, Set Up, Food & Beverage, Pre-Cons,etc.)\u2022Requisitions and inspection of food orders, supplies and equipment to ensure standards of quality are met..\u2022Prepare and work witth team members in coaching and PIPs.\u2022Organize and update buffet selection signs.
