Catering Coordinator Jobs description
A catering coordinator plans and oversees the physical and service requirements of various catered events and functions. The job involves coordinating with catering manager, chefs and catering staff to ensure quality service in a catering event from start to finish. Catering coordinator jobs are available with catering companies, restaurants, canteens, hospitals, airlines etc.The most important responsibility of a catering coordinator is to coordinate the catering details for large events and provide a responsive and pleasant catering experience to clients. Other daily duties include organizing social and corporate events, increasing catering sales, implementing the follow-up of all catering orders, training new managers and staff, ensuring proper execution of catering orders, estimating costs and amount of ingredients, minimizing waste and placing orders with suppliers. A catering coordinator may also undertake general administrative tasks as required.
To apply for a catering coordinator job, a bachelor's degree is desirable, though a high school diploma is also acceptable in many cases. Prior catering experience is advantageous. Effective customer service, organizational, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills are also important.
