Director Of Dining Services Jobs description
A director of dining services job is generally available with contract foodservice providers, senior living communities, assisted living centers and hospitals. A dining services director ensures that high quality, appetizing and well presented food is served in all areas of dining services.The chief responsibility of a dining services director is to provide overall leadership and management of dining services operations. The job may also involve operating the department within stipulated budget and being financially accountable for the dining services department. Other important duties include supervising and training team members, food ordering, food preparation and delivery, conducting safety and sanitation programs, conducting inventory and rotation of products, keeping accurate records and ensuring regulatory compliance.
The minimum educational qualification required for a director of dining services job is a bachelor's degree in food services management or related fields. Foodservice operational management experience in a fine dining setting is preferred. ServSafe certification is desirable. Other prerequisites are good communication, supervisory, leadership and interpersonal skills.
