Catering Manager Jobs description

A catering manager job involves managing all catering operations in a positive manner to meet customer needs and exceed revenue goals. Catering manager jobs are generally available with catering firms, hospital or office canteens, and schools.

A catering manager works closely with the catering coordinator to meet all customer and company goals. The job involves maintaining friendly relationships with customers while resolving customer complaints. Planning, setting up and managing all catered events including menu, pricing, decoration, crockery and staff also falls under the purview of a catering manager job. Other important duties include hiring and training staff, overseeing budget, ordering supplies, achieving high quality at low cost, and maintaining a sanitary and hygienic work area.

To apply for a catering manager job, a bachelor’s degree is desirable but not mandatory. Prior work experience in food or culinary services is important. Experience will substitute for education in some cases. A successful catering manager also exhibits good communication, organizational, project management and interpersonal skills.
