Restaurant Assistant Manager Jobs description

Assistant restaurant managers assist the restaurant manager and the food and beverages director to effectively manage overall functions of the restaurant/outlet and ensure the best possible guest experience. In addition to this, assistant restaurant managers maintain excellent guest and staff relationship and are responsible for meeting the overall income and cost budget and ensuring excellent meal experience to the guests.

Candidates applying for the position of an assistant restaurant manager must: be a high school graduate or have the equivalent; have a working knowledge of all areas of restaurant operations from front of the house to the back of the house; have a minimum of two years progressive experience in a supervisory role in a food and beverage operation; and have demonstrated ability to lead and supervise with the ability to deal with people at all levels.

The ideal assistant restaurant manager will be able to perform under pressure while at the same time provide a good standard of service and restaurant management. He/she will have a hands-on approach and will be a strong energetic leader, committed to the development of his/her restaurant team. In addition, assistant restaurant managers are required to have strong financial acumen and be aware of common legal legislation. Candidates must have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to drive sales while managing the restaurant. They must have the confidence and experience to take an established restaurant to its full potential.
